Several locals in MaxPreps track rankings

Several high school local track and field athletes are listed in the MaxPreps top 18 rankings in their respective events.
 

La Junta
Three La Junta boys are listed in Class 3A. Zerek Jones is in the top 18 in three events including being ranked third in the 400-meter dash in 50.92 seconds, sixth in the 800-meter run in 2:03.86 and tied for ninth place in the high jump at 5-11.

Joseph Jaramillo is ranked in two events as he is fifth in the 200 in 23.08 and sixth in the 100 in 11.46.

Audie Fouracre is also listed in two events as he is seventh in the 100 in 11.47 and 14th in the triple jump at 40-0.

La Junta is ranked in two relays as it is ninth in the 4×200 in 1:34.61 and 13th in the 4×100 in 46.43.

For the La Junta girls, Chelsea Applehunt is ranked 11th in the 100-meter hurdles in 17.58.

The Lady Tiger 4×100 relay team is ranked 14th in 54.35.


Swink
In Class 2A, four Swink boys are listed in the top 18 in their events.

Dante Estrada is 14th in the 300 hurdles in 45.56 and Taylor Parker is 16th in the same event in 45.79.

Andy Bartolo is 18th in the 800 in 2:11.27 and Jerod Berg is 18th in the shot put at 39-2.

The Lions’ 4×800 relay team in seventh in 9:14.02.

For the Swink girls, Kyrah Guerin is ranked in three events including 12th in the long jump at 14-10, 13th in the 100 in 13.56 and 15th in the 200 in 28.29.

Lindsey Tatum is ranked in two events. She is eighth in the triple jump at 33-2 1/4 and 17th in the long jump at 14-7.


Rocky Ford
Four Rocky Ford boys are in the top 18. Cody Dell is ranked in two events as he is sixth in the 110 hurdles in 16.42 and 12th in the 300 hurdles in 44.62.

Adan Munoz is ranked 18th in the 1,600 in 5:04.28. He is on the outside looking in in the 3,200 as he is 19th in 12:02.53.

Jeremiah Balderas is ninth in the high jump at 5-8 and Mario George is 18th in the 3,200 in 11:50.97.

The Meloneers’ 4×800 relay team is ranked 15th in 9:37.67.

For the Lady Meloneers, Brandi Maes is 18th in the shot put at 30-0 1/2 and the 4×800 relay team is 18th in 12:56.25.


Fowler
Fowler had three boys in the top 18 in their events including Dakota Parker, who is ranked in four. He is third in the long jump at 20-1, eighth in the 100 in 11.71, ninth in the triple jump at 40-1 1/2 and 17th in the 200 in 24.51.

Tye Stephens is ranked in two events including 17th in the 110 hurdles in 18.06 and 18th in the 300 hurdles in 46.06.

Rhett Hinkle is 12th in the 3,200 in 11:29.66.

No Fowler girls are ranked in their events.


Las Animas
Las Animas has four girls in the rankings. Carrie Dean is ranked in two events as she is sixth in the 100 in 13.25 and sixth in the 200 in 27.61.

Kayla Snead is also ranked in two events including fifth in the 300 hurdles in 49.67 and 17th in the 100 hurdles in 18:27.

Taylor Spady is seventh in the triple jump at 33-3 1/2 and Taryn Likes is ninth in the 3,200 in 13:47.01.

The Lady Trojans are ranked in four relay events. They are fifth in the 4×400 in 4:20.73, ninth in the 4×100 in 54.57, 11th in the 4×200 in 1:55.74 and 17th in the 4×800 in 12:29.77.

No Las Animas boys are in the rankings.


Crowley County
For the Crowley County boys, Zach West is 13th in the 800 in 2:10.91 and 17th in the 3,200 in 11:45.36.

Three Lady Chargers are ranked in the discus. Joanna Diaz is third at 107-3, Shandi Waldroupe is seventh at 98-1 and Kim Graham is 15th at 94-0.
 

Cheraw
In Class 1A, Cheraw’s Tyrel Goff is ninth in the 3,200 in 12:01.03 and 13th in the long jump at 18-3.

No Lady Wolverines are ranked.

McClave
The McClave boys are led by Tate Mauser, who has the best shot put performance at 47-1.

Dillan Kelley is ranked in three events as he is fourth in the 300 hurdles in 44.51, fifth in the 110 hurdles in 18.36 and seventh in the 200 in 24.55.

Gabe Longworth is also ranked in three events including third in the 200 in 24.26, 11th in the 400 in 56.10 and 15th in the 100 on 12.20.

Ashur Wiedrich is eighth in the 1,600 in 5:09.35.

For the Lady Cardinals, Melissa Navarette is ranked in three events. She is seventh in the long jump at 14-5 1/2, eighth in the 100 in 13.93 and 11th in the 400 in 1:06.69.

Breanna Simonds is seventh in the 1,600 in 6:22.13.
 

Kim
For the Kim boys, Logan Patterson is ranked in four events. He is eighth in the 110 hurdles in 19.01, eighth in the 300 hurdles in 46.15, 12th in the triple jump at 37-0 and 14th in the 200 in 25.02.

Kolby Shannon is 12th in the 110 hurdles in 20.47 and the 4×100 relay team is 14th in 51.86.

The Lady Mustangs leader is Alexa Feemster, who has the best mark in the shot put at 30-6. She is also 17th in the discus at 76-5.

Tai Ann Nittler is ranked in three events including third in the 1,600 in 5:58.50, tied for fifth in the high jump at 4-8 and 10th in the 800 in 2:44.23.

Kelsea Shannon is ranked ninth in the discus at 84-11 and 13th in the shot put at 28-0. Shandy Winters is 18th in the 200 at 30.41.
 

This week’s schedule
This week, La Junta, Swink, Fowler and Crowley County are at the John Tate Challenge Cup in Pueblo today and Saturday. Rocky Ford is at the Harrison Invitational on Saturday and Cheraw, Kim, Las Animas and McClave are at the Longhorn Invitational in Springfield on Saturday.
 

Tiger Relays are next week
The Tiger Relays and Lady Tiger Relays will take place next Friday beginning at 1 p.m.

It will be the 63rd running of the Tiger Relays, while the Lady Tiger Relays will run their 38th running.
