With the spring home-buying season upon us, Realtors across New Jersey and the country are showcasing homes for sale and celebrating the third year of Open House Weekend. On April 28 – 29, Realtors in northern New Jersey will be opening the doors to hundreds of listed homes for sale.

People who are considering buying or selling a home may wish to take advantage of this statewide event by hosting an open house or by visiting those that are open for viewing.

“This has proven to be an exciting event that stimulates interest and transactions for consumers across the state,” said Carol Van Savage, president of The Passaic County Board of Realtors. “Momentum is building and Realtors are looking forward to showcasing their inventories. This event makes home shop- ping easier for both buyers and sellers.”

With attractive mortgage rates, Van Savage said that housing in New Jersey is more affordable than it has been in years and customers can benefit by capitalizing on the opportunity to purchase a larger house or a home in a more desirable neighborhood.

“Open House Weekend serves as a one-stop-shop for anyone in or on the market,” said Van Savage.

Sellers have much to gain from participating in the event. Rather than scheduling individual appointments according to potential buyers’ schedules, they can simply make their homes available for the weekend and enjoy a lot more traffic. Realtors consider the event as an excellent opportunity to generate traffic and interest.
