Hot Property: Condos don’t hold candle to new place

The pair recently bought a contemporary house in Beverly Hills that had been listed at $7.695 million but was withdrawn from the market before closing. It can be weeks or months before a sales price appears on the public record.

The remodeled house includes four bedrooms, 5 1/2 bathrooms and more than 4,200 square feet of interior space.

The nearly half-acre site features a swimming pool, lawn, a cabana and patios.

John, 65, has won multiple Grammy Awards. He shares an Oscar for “The Lion King” song “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” and won a Grammy for singing it. Among the singer-songwriter-composer’s hits are “Candle in the Wind,” “Your Song” and “Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting.”

Furnish, 49, directed “Elton John: Tantrums Tiaras” (1997). He was an announcer and executive producer of the television series “Spectacle: Elvis Costello With …” (2008-11).

‘LOST’ STAR CAN BE FOUND IN OREGON

“Lost” star Matthew Fox has listed his crash pad in Manhattan Beach for sale at $1.995 million.

The Spanish-style home, built in 1927, features coved ceilings, arched doorways, two corner fireplaces, decorative tile stair risers and a wooden stairway with carved railings. The nearly 2,500-square-foot house includes a large family room, four bedrooms and two bathrooms. There are ocean views from the upper-level rooms and balcony.

Fox, 45, played hero Jack Shephard on “Lost” (2004-10). This year he will star in the thriller “Alex Cross.” Fox also will star in the historic epic “Emperor,” in which Tommy Lee Jones will play Gen. Douglas MacArthur.

Public records show he bought the property in 1999 for $880,000. Fox used the house as his personal residence until he moved to Hawaii while filming the television series. He has since relocated to the Bend, Ore., area.

Singer Melanie Brown – Scary Spice from her days with the Spice Girls – and her husband, producer Stephen Belafonte, have sold their Tarzana compound for $3 million to Brooke Mueller, the former Mrs. Charlie Sheen, public records show.
