Nene left Friday’s win over the 76ers in the fourth quarter with a pulled left plantar fascia.

The Washington Wizards did not practice on Saturday following a thorough 97-76 victory over Philadelphia the previous night at Verizon Center in which starting center Nene and starting forward Trevor Booker each suffered nearly identical injuries.

Reached on Saturday morning, a team spokesman indicated both players continue to be monitored and are day-to-day. The Wizards next play on Sunday in Toronto before coming home for a Monday night meeting with Milwaukee.

After going 1 of 3 from the field in almost six and a half minutes, Booker departed the game with 5 minutes 38 seconds to play with what the team called a pulled left plantar fascia. Booker, averaging 8.4 points and 6.5 rebounds, grimaced as he limped off the court and into the locker room with the Wizards ahead by two points.

In the fourth quarter with a little more than two minutes left, Nene pulled up gingerly in front of the Wizards bench, and Coach Randy Wittman called timeout.

Washington was ahead, 91-74, at that point and well on its way to ending a five-game losing streak, but the Wizards finished it out minus Nene, who walked slowly to the locker room.

Team officials said Nene also had a pulled left plantar fascia.

Booker had departed the locker room by the time media were allowed inside, but Nene had a walking boot on his left foot.

“Sore, pain in my heel right now,” Nene said when asked how he was feeling. “But I’ll be fine.”

Nene said he dealt with the same injury when he was with Denver, so at least he’s aware of how to manage his recovery.

Nene came to Washington in a trade-deadline deal that shipped center JaVale McGee to the Nuggets and Nick Young to the Los Angeles Clippers.

In six games with the Wizards, Nene is averaging 14.8 points and 9.3 rebounds.
