Been there: Charles Cohen was the man behind beenz.com
Charles Cohen’s last venture was beenz.com, the online currency firm that symbolised the madness of the dotcom era.
But has his feet more firmly on the ground with his AIM-listed Probability, which makes gambling technology for mobile phones.
The firm, based in Gibraltar, has a million customers who play bingo and casino games on their smartphones.
Now it plans to break into America after the justice department said online gaming could be regulated by individual states.
Probability is in the process of applying for a gaming licence in Nevada, which Cohen hopes will pave the way for expansion abroad.
‘This is a great opportunity,’ he said. ‘If we are licensed in Nevada, we can link up with the American gaming giants looking to enter the mobile market and really steal a march on the opposition.’
