Easter Events Where You Live

Spring is here and Easter is right around the corner. Enjoy the mild weather while spending time with the family at one of these Easter events from around the metro. From egg hunts to Easter bunnies there is an event for everyone.

Albertville

  • The Albertville City Hall in Albertville is hosting an Easter egg hunt on March 31. From 10 a.m. until noon kids will be divided into two age categories and hunt for five filled eggs with either a candy or prize ticket inside. Prizes must be picked up day of event. The event is free but remember to bring your own basket.

Bloomington

  • The Southtown Shopping Center in Bloomington is throwing an Easter Party on April 7. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. kids can visit the Easter Bunny, participate in face painting, enjoy a petting zoo, play games and more. There will be giveaways while supplies last. The event is free. 
  • Come to the Richardson Nature Center, Hyland Lake Park Reserve in Bloomington for the Egg Trail and Rabbit Habits event. On April 6 and 7 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. kids can hike and hunt for wooden eggs and fact-filled rabbits. There will be live animals and a variety of other activities. Open to children ages three and up. Adults must accompany children. The cost is $5 per person and registration is required. Call 763-559-6700 (activity #212907) to register. 

Brooklyn Center

  • The Heron Egg Hunt is on March 31 at the Kroening Interpretive Center in North Mississippi Regional Park in Brooklyn Center. From noon until 3 p.m. there will be a special “hunt” for blue heron eggs for two different age groups, prizes for all and live bunnies, chicks and goats. Open to all ages. The cost is $5 and reservations are required at 763-559-6700 (activity #216907-00) 

Coon Rapids

  • Northstar Community Church in Coon Rapids is hosting its first Eggstravaganza on March 31. The family event starts at 10 a.m. and includes a 10,000 Easter egg hunt with areas set aside for three specific age groups. The three hunts will start at staggered times. The hunt will take place in the open area between Northdale Middle School and Eisenhower Elementary School off Northdale Boulevard and Dogwood Street. There will also be live music, a bunny tent, face painting, prizes and more! 

Edina

  • Have some fun at the Easter Egg Scramble on March 24. At 9 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Edinborough Park in Edina will be hosting egg collecting as well as admission to Adventure Park and Playpark for the say. The cost is $8 per ticket. 

Excelsior

  • The Southshore Community Center in Excelsior is hosting an Animal Open House and Egg Hunt on April 14. From 1-4 p.m. there will be an egg hunt. The event is free with a donation to the ICA Excelsior Food Shelf.
  • The Commons Park in Excelsior brings you a Community Easter Egg Hunt on April 7. At 10 a.m. there will be Easter egg hunts for different children age groups, food and prizes. The event is free and open to toddlers through age 11. Parking is available alongside Commons Park and behind businesses on Water Street. The event is hosted by the Our Savior Lutheran Church and School.

Fridley

  • Springbrook Nature Center in Fridley is offering an event for kids this spring. Kids have a chance to meet the Giant Rabbit this Easter season at the nature center. Activities at the Spring Fling include a cock-a-doodle zoo, carnival games, and costumed characters. The Spring Fling takes place from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 7. It costs $5 in advance or $6 at the gate.

Golden Valley 

  • The Spirit of Hope United Methodist Church in Golden Valley is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt for children of all ages following the 10 a.m. worship service on April 8. The event is free. 
  • The Easter Eggstravaganza is on April 7 at the Unity Christ Church in Golden Valley. From 1–3 p.m. there will be an Easter egg hunt, games and other activities. The event is open to all ages but remember to bring your own basket or bucket. There is a suggested donation of $5 per child or $10 per family. 

Lake Elmo

  • The Valley Creek Church invites you to attend their Egg Drop Event. A helicopter will fly overhead dropping thousands of plastic eggs from the sky leaving 30,000 plastic, prized filled eggs on the soccer fields at the Washington County Fairgrounds in Lake Elmo. If you get a lucky egg you could win the new iPad, a Nintendo Wii, an American Girl doll,a  bike, a helmet or more. Children 12 and under are invited to attend. Maple Grove

  • Come to the Third Annual Talking Easter Egg Hunt at The Hall at Local 653 in Maple Grove. On March 25 from 1-3 p.m. there will be an egg hunt, food, crafts and games for kids. The event is designed for children with visual impairments and families of Minnesota NAPVI  (National Association of Parents with Visually Impaired children).   • The Lookout Bar Grill in Maple Grove is hosting a Kids Easter Party on March 31. From 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. there will be an egg hunt with Hoppy the Easter Bunny, free games, crafts and prizes. The event is free. A kids pancake breakfast is available for $4.95. 
  • Come enjoy the Easter season at the Fish Lake Regional Park in Maple Grove. Eggstravaganza is on April 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be games, bunnies, crafts and treats for children of all ages. You can even meet a giant rabbit and search for special eggs. The cost is $6 for pre-registration, $7 day of event. Children under 2 are free. Call 763-559-6700 (activity number #215907-00) to register. 
  • Celebrate Easter with the Easter Egg Hunt at Weaver Lake Park in Maple Grove. On April 7th at 10 a.m. there will be an Easter egg hunt sponsored by the Weaver Lake Conservation Association. You must be on time to participate. The event is free but donations are accepted. 
  • The Woods in Maple Grove is hosting the Spring Celebration at The Woods on April 7. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. kids can visit with the Easter bunny and play with live animals from Hemker’s Wildlife Farm. The Easter bunny is available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the live animals are available 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. The event is free. 
  • Christ’s Community Church in Maple Grove is hosting a Breakfast and Easter Egg Hunt on April 8. From 7:30 a.m. until 8:45 a.m. there will be an Easter egg hunt and breakfast for children. The event is free. 
  • The Passion Church Service Easter Egg Hunt is on April 6 at the Maple Grove Senior High in Maple Grove. Kids 12 and under will be able to hunt for about 20,000 candy-filled plastic eggs and those 12 and older can participate in the Easter worship in the auditorium. Minneapolis

  • Kenny Park is hosting a Spring Egg Hunt on April 18 from 10-11:30 a.m. There will be games, treats, and the hunt which starts promptly at 11 a.m. The cost is $5 per child. For more information call Armatage Park at 612-370-4912 or Kenny Park at 612-370-4901. 
  • Matthews Park is hosting a Spring Eggstravaganza on April 4. From 10 a.m. until noon there will be an egg hunt, games, face painting, crafts and more. Kids may bring baskets. Shakopee

  • Give your kids a little practice before Easter morning and jump start the excitement with a free Easter Egg Hunt in Shakopee. Shakopee Parks and Recreation and the Shakopee Jaycees will be hosting the fun on Saturday, March 31 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Shakopee Community Center. There will be egg hunts by age, activities, games, prizes, police cars and fire trucks to explore and much more. The event will go on rain or shine. No reservations are needed….just show up and enjoy the fun.
  • The Landing – Minnesota River Heritage Park in Shakopee is hosting the Victorian Easter Egg Roll on April 7. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. kids can make a miniature basket, decorate a wooden egg, participate in an egg spoon race, bunny hop relay and egg roll. There will be refreshments. Shoreview

  • Kids can hunt for prize-filled eggs and meet the Easter Bunny at the annual Shoreview Egg Hunt. The event, open to kids 10-years-old and younger, will be held at the Shoreview Community Center Pavilion. It takes place from 9:30-11 a.m. Saturday, March 31, and costs $10 per child. St. Anthony

  • Bring the entire family to Silverwood Park for an afternoon of Easter fun. On March 31 there will be art-inspired egg hunts for a variety of age groups, photos with the Easter Bunny, musical entertainment and a variety of art activities throughout the afternoon. There will be staggered start times for the Easter egg hunt. For children ages 0-4 hunts will begin at 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. For children ages 5-10 the hunts will begin at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. The cost is $5 for preregistered participants or $6 day of.   • The Anglican Church of St. Dunstan in St. Louis Park is hosting an Easter Mass and Egg Hunt on April 8. There will be a 10 a.m. worship service and the egg hunt will take place shortly after. The event is free. 

St. Paul 

  • The James J. Hill House in St. Paul is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt on April 7. From 10-11a.m. There will be an outdoor hunt on the Hill House lawn where children ages 2-7 can look for eggs according to their age range. There will also be prizes, snacks and more. The cost is $6 per person (all ages). There is a $2 discount for MHS members. Reservations are recommended. Call 651-297-2555 for more information or to register. 

Vadnais Heights 

  • Vadnais Heights kids are invited to join the annual Easter Egg Hunt at Community Park. The event is sponsored by the Vadnais Heights Lions Club and the city of Vadnais Heights and is free to residents. Kids will get goodie bags and a chance to meet the Easter Bunny. Non-perishable food items will be accepted for the Vadnais Heights Food Shelf. The event takes place from 10:30-11:45 a.m. Saturday, March 31, on East County Road F

Woodbury

  • Grab a basket or bucket and come to the Carver Lake Park in Woodbury for an old fashioned Easter egg hunt on March 30. The hunt will begin at 6:30 p.m. sharp and will be held rain or shine. Each age group will be looking for different colored eggs hidden throughout the park. The event is free. Please beware that some eggs may contain prizes listed as a chocking hazard for children under age 3.
