Victoria and David Beckham have decided to put their Hertfordshire mansion, nicknamed Beckingham Palace, up for sale.

The bought the seven-bed Grade 11-listed home for £2.5million back in 1999.

However, since then they have spent nearly £18million of renovations and the property now includes indoor and outdoor pools, petting zoo, studio, gym and tennis courts.

The golden couple have apparently decided to leave Europe completely by selling their £2.5m house in France as well.

The couple, who have an estimated fortune of £165million, are apparently to make Los Angeles their permanent base.

A source told the Daily Mirror: “David and Victoria have been wanting to sell up for a couple of years now but the timing was never right.

“They didn’t want to lose money, putting their homes up for sale during a slump in the property market.

“So, after getting it valued two years ago, decided to hold off until now.”

They added: “Unfortunately, they have still lost quite a lot of money on their UK home due to all the renovations they carried out.

“They don’t need the money, as such, but no longer use either place and realise in this current climate it’s crazy to effectively throw cash away.

“The Beckhams have made LA their home, and the kids are settled there.”

David recently decided to stay with LA Galaxy rather than move to Paris Saint Germain.

However, it is thought that Victoria will invest in a small place in London.

The insider aded: “Victoria already has a studio there. She has already looked at a couple of apartments near Hyde Park and may decide to buy later this year.”
