Rossendale homes to share in a multi-million pound investment scheme

HUNDREDS of homes across the Valley are set to share in a multi-million pound investment programme from next month.

Borough landlord Green Vale Homes has confirmed proposals to overhaul kitchens and bathrooms at several estates across Rossendale.

The majority of the works cover the Bacup and Stacksteads area with roofing overhauls set to take place at 82 properties on the Pennine Road estate.

New windows and doors are scheduled to be installed at 215 locations on Lodge Meadow, Mettlecote and Thorn.

For 75 homes in Goodshaw, and 53 in Higher Cloughfold, new bathrooms are on the cards and better kitchens have been pencilled in for 81 houses at Edgeside.

Kitchens are the main focus for Haslingden and Whitworth with 11 homes respectively being upgraded on Laburnum Street and Knowsley Crescent.

Louise Dowling, home improvement and liaison co-ordinator said: “All homes due to receive work will need inspecting or surveying before any work starts.”

Electrical testing will also take place at 445 homes and letters are set to be sent out to all affected addresses.

Grants would then be available for redecorating in the event of a full rewiring being required.

An extension to the current solar panel installation programme has also been confirmed. Two hundreds homes, in addition to the 100 or more already completed.

Housing bosses have stressed that they may not be carrying out improvements at every property listed on a particular street.

I believe you are stopping cutting disabled/housebound people’s grass this year. I believe a substantial charge to them has been made (unaffordable) out of an already reduced weekly budget. So there grass will not be cut???
Come on Greenvale reverse this and let’s be fully proud of the environment able and disabled people alike.
A monthly grass cut to most disabled …… I beg you to reinstate, if true as it is only hearsay. please.
