From a traditional pub lunch to a pampering day at a spa, there are any number of ways to treat your mum to a memorable Mother’s Day in Staffordshire.
Many restaurants have created special menus to mark the day, while some of the county’s top visitor attractions are pulling out all the stops with an array of offers and events.
-
One of these is the Trentham Estate, which is offering free entry for mums on March 18. The neighbouring high wire ropes course, Aerial Adventure is also letting mothers in for free with another paying guest.
As well as its beautiful gardens and the high ropes course the 725 acre estate also boasts a cafe, shops and the amazing Monkey Forest, where 140 primates roam freely.
Amanda Dawson, marketing manager at the estate said everything was in place for a fantastic day out on March 18.
She said: “The estate is looking lovely and the daffodils have just started coming out so we hope that a lot more will be by this weekend.
“It’s a great day out for the family, there is so much to do and generally people seem to come along and have lunch in the cafe, or bring a picnic and stay for the day.”
Special events on Mothering Sunday include miniature train rides, boat trips on the lake and an unlikely but very entertaining comedy double act.
Amanda said: “The lake is a real feature and the boat and train are both running so people can go and take a boat ride on the lake or a train alongside it. We’ve also got Laurel and Hardy impersonators down at the shops and they are a lot of fun and are really interactive.”
And if all that wasn’t enough the Monkey Forest is also getting into the Mother’s Day spirit with special talks about monkey mums.
