Lord’s Cricket Ground opens gates for summertime events
With the start of the cricket season just around the corner, officials at Lord’s Cricket Ground have announced the summertime events packages available for corporate and private functions at the Home of Cricket in 2012.
Events organisers now have the opportunity to host alfresco celebrations in unique spaces within the world-famous cricket ground, including the historic Pavilion Roof Terrace, the modern Mound Stand Terrace, and the tranquil surroundings of the Harris Garden, between April and September. In addition, the iconic Long Room positioned in the Grade II listed Pavilion is available for large-scale dinners.
As London gears-up to host the 2012 Olympics and Diamond Jubilee celebrations, the menus created by the Lord’s kitchens will have a quintessentially British theme, using organic meat sourced from the award-winning Pipers Farm, Cullompton, and field fresh vegetables and herbs. Organisers of outdoor events can also choose from a diverse selection of canapés or embrace a searing barbecue.
Jon Robinson, MCC Assistant Secretary (Catering Marketing) said: “Much like the rest of the capital, this summer will be one of the busiest ever at Lord’s – combining both international cricket and the Olympic Archery competition – but we are still looking forward to welcoming corporate and private parties for summertime functions at the Ground. Lord’s Cricket Ground is woven into the fabric of the English summer, and we are delighted to be able to offer event organisers such a wide range of perfect outdoor and indoor spaces to host their celebrations.”
