In previous columns I have talked about the Chamber opening up some of its events to non-member businesses and organizations.
While our members remain our priority, and reap the most benefit from supporting the Chamber, we realize that the strength of our local economy also lies beyond our affiliates.
And that is why we are inviting all local businesses to participate in two important upcoming events.
On Saturday, Feb. 25, we will be hosting our 2012 Health Fair at The Mall at Sierra Vista from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This event will feature dozens of vendors covering a wide range of services, from home health care and supplements to martial arts and fitness centers.
We are delighted to be working once again with the mall following the success of our Mini-Expo for home based businesses and non-profits last November.
This is a great location for the Health Fair, thanks to its high visibility and natural traffic draw.
The Chamber has also kept this event affordable by maintaining the same registration fees as our 2010 fair — just $100 for members and $125 for non-members.
We think that’s a great price to pay to reach hundreds of potential clients and customers in just a few hours.
This event will also feature displays and demonstrations on our health fair stage, as well as an outdoor area featuring the AirEvac helicopter and Sierra Vista Fire Department, which will be showing families how to properly fit child safety seats in vehicles.
If you are in the business of health, then do not miss out on this opportunity to market, communicate and network.
It’s easy to get signed up — just visit www.sierravistachamber.org.
Next up will be the Southeastern Arizona Contractors Association (SACA) Home Garden Show on Friday, March 23, and Saturday, March 24, at Buena High School.
The Chamber is again partnering with SACA to present this popular event, which showcases the wealth of home improvement services available to Cochise County residents.
While the Chamber Home Business Expo in September features our members only, this show is open to any company or organization that wishes to participate — although both SACA and Chamber members receive discounted rates.
Last week we began our newspaper and radio advertising for this event and we will continue our extensive marketing from now until show time.
This means the earlier you register, the more promotion your business will receive, as the vendor list in our newspaper ads will be updated weekly.
All vendors are also listed on our website, as well as in our Chamber Vista newsletter.
During last year’s event, we estimate that at least 2,000 people came through the doors and we anticipate at least that many attending again.
And this year there will be a series of mini demonstrations taking place throughout the two days where attendees can learn some tips and tricks regarding home improvements.
There are spaces available in a number of sizes to suit varying budgets and all booths will feature pipe and drape for no additional cost.
The day before the show, there will be an eight-page insert in the Sierra Vista Herald listing all vendors, giveaways, drawings, demonstrations and other features.
So don’t let your competition snap up the customers you could be doing business with.
Visit the Chamber website before Friday, March 2, to take advantage of the early registration rates.
