Harbour & Jones lands £5m RSA House contract

For the three-year contract, worth £5m, Harbour Jones will create menus for events at the Grade I listed building which was a centre of Georgian enlightenment thinking.

Harbour Jones will also run Gerard Bar, which is exclusively for the use of RSA fellows, and The Vaults restaurant which is located three floors below ground.

RSA House hosts more than 150 free events a year as well as conferences, weddings, parties, banquets and film shoots. The venue says it plans to “compete more fiercely in the London venue market.”

It is currently undergoing a renovation which is due for completion in June, although some public rooms will reopen in April. Matthew Lloyd architects will recreate the original 18th century architecture, flattening the floor of the Great Room and adding new informal meeting spaces.

The contract win follows the announcement that Harbour Jones will provide catering aboard the historic tea clipper Cutty Sark when it reopens in April.
