The highly rated Mattaponi Springs Golf Club in Caroline County is for sale.
The course is being listed by Hilda W. Allen Real Estate Inc., a Georgia-based brokerage firm that specializes in golf courses, hotels and other commercial properties. Representatives from the firm have not beeen reached for comment, and the real estate listing does not include an asking price.
Mattaponi, which opened in 2005 and was designed by Chicago-area architect Bob Lohmann, is owned by Washington-area patent attorney Jim Oliff. Brenda Simmons, the course’s general manager, declined to comment about anything related to the potential sale but said the course is in great condition and remains open as normal.
