Perth Historical Society’s January meeting will explore “The History and Programs of Murphy’s Point Park”, with Tobi Kiesewalter, the Park’s Natural History Education Leader. Come and hear the many stories for a range of interests about this beautiful area park – it’s geology, natural resources, and historical development – and, now, its considerable community involvement. In honour of Robbie Burns’ Day an afternoon of Scottish celebration is once again planned at the Middleville Community Centre (4203 Wolf Grove Road) from 2 to 4 p.m. Enjoy a wee breath of Scotland in the midst of the lovely Lanark highlands: celtic tunes, highland dancing, a Scottish singalong, and of course the pipes, along with dessert, coffee and soft drinks, even a taste of haggis.
