• ALGONA — Republican presidential candidate and former U.S.
House Speaker Newt Gingrich and his wife, Callista, will appear at
The Chocolate Season at 1:30 p.m.

• MASON CITY — A Bowl-A-Thon for Blake Lobdell continues at the
Rose Bowl. All lanes are available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and from
9 p.m. to midnight. Lobdell, a Clear Lake teacher, died suddenly
this year and proceeds from the event will go to a scholarship fund
in his name.

• MASON CITY — “Christmas Break at Lime Creek” will be from 1 to
3 p.m. at the Lime Creek Nature Center for children and their
parents. There is no charge but registration is required; call
641-423-5309.

• MASON CITY — Michael Betz will play keyboards from 11 a.m. to
2 p.m. in the Commons of the Mason City Public Library. The
performance is free and open to the public.

• MASON CITY — Republican presidential candidate and former U.S.
House Speaker Newt Gingrich and his wife, Callista, will hold a
meet-and-greet at center court in Southbridge Mall from 10:30 to
11:45 a.m.
