KINGWOOD AREA QUILT GUILD

The quilt guild invites the public to a Christmas party Dec. 1
at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, 2929 Woodland Hills Drive in
Kingwood. There will be games, food, door prizes and fun. Guild

CHRISTMAS CRAFT SHOW

The Roman Forest Special Events Committee is hosting a Christmas
Craft Show 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Dec. 3 at Roman Forest City Park. For
booth rental information and application, contact Christie
Hantelman at 281-744-7237 or chantelman3619@yahoo.com. All booth
rental fees benefit the 2012 July 4 Fireworks Extravaganza. Santa
will be stopping by, and door prizes will be given away on the
hour. For a $1 donation per child, there will be a designated safe
play area for children while parents shop. This year the committee
is also seeking corporate sponsorship and has several levels to

CHRISTMAS PET PHOTOS

Santa and Clifford the Big Red Dog will be visiting the AABY
Thrift Shop on Dec. 3 for Christmas photos. There will be fun and
treats for two-legged and four-legged alike. Visitors can bring
their own cameras or have their picture developed on site. All
families are welcome. Cats and their people are scheduled from
10-11 a.m. Dogs and all others will be 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Santa hats,
reindeer antlers, tuxedos and other outfits will be available.
There is a $5 requested donation to AABY’s Building Fund and SOS

HARTA

Humble Area Retired Teachers Association will hold its next
meeting on Dec. 5 at the Instructional Support Center, 4810
Magnolia Cove Drive in Kingwood. Social time will begin at 9:30
a.m. with the business meeting at 10. Highlights of this holiday
meeting will include the Kingwood Park High School Madrigal Choir,
holiday gift exchange and luncheon. Attendees should bring a
wrapped gift for the raffle and a dish of choice for the luncheon.
All retired school personnel and their guests from the surrounding

BOOK CLUB

The Kingwood Page Turners will meet Dec. 5 and Dec. 19 at St.
Martha Catholic Church, 4301 Woodridge Parkway, Porter, in Room 2
at 7 p.m. Discussion will be on the book “Unbroken” by Laura
Hillenbrand, a current New York Times bestseller. All are welcome.

HOLIDAY TOY DRIVE

New Caney Fire Department is holding a holiday toy drive in
conjunction with Heaven’s Army of Resources. New, unwrapped toys
for children of all ages are being accepted at both locations to
provide Christmas for children in need in East Montgomery County.
Toys can be dropped off through Dec. 18 at the fire station, 19870
FM 1485 W. or Heaven’s Army, 19325 FM 1485 W. in New Caney. For
