RB LaDainian Tomlinson and WR Jeremy Kerley did not practice Friday and both are listed as “questionable” for Sunday’s game against the Bills. With Tomlinson, however, Jets coach Rex Ryan said he is more toward the “doubtful side,” of questionable.
Tomlinson said that the work that he did on Monday left him sore and unable to practice the rest of the week. He called it something of a setback.
“Coming in and doing some stuff, it was good to see where I was, being sore the next day. The key is that I wasn’t quite ready to get to practice on Wednesday and Thursday and that’s when I wanted to come out and do stuff at the end of the week see where I was,” Tomlinson said. “If I compare my knee, it is 100% better to where I was Monday. Still I can say I can’t just tell the coaches’ I am playing.”
Tomlinson repeated several times that it was the coaching staff that will decide if he plays on Sunday.
“I really haven’t done anything in practice, (that) might have something to do with why coach said questionable/doubtful,” Tomlinson said. “I am sure if I had been able to get some practice in that would have changed.
“Would I love to still play even though I haven’t practiced, would I still love to go out and play, yes? Could I yes? But it’s up to the coaches.”
Ryan said Kerley is more toward the “probable” side of questionable. Both players reportedly did work on the sidelines during practice Friday.
