According to media reports today, Miami Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano has listed his Broward County home for sale.  The Dolphins embattled head coach is living on a week-to-week review from franchise owner Stephen Ross.

CBS4/790 The Ticket’s Jorge Sedano has confirmed that Sparano’s home, which is listed under his son Andrew’s name, has been listed with an asking price of $1.5 million.

Each week, and each Dolphins loss, brings Sparano closer to being unemployed.  Yet, every week, reports come out that Ross is not yet ready to fire the coach.  Ross has apparently been swayed into keeping Sparano this long because the players report to him that they haven’t lost faith in their coach, and close friend Carl Peterson has confirmed, firing a coach mid-season doesn’t change anything.  However, those close to Ross have stated that the owner is “very frustrated.” 

Reports this week have come out that Ross is thought to be using contacts to reach out to former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach, and current TV analyst, Bill Cowher.  It’s also believed that Cowher may be ready to return to coaching, and that he is interested in the Dolphins job.

If, and, maybe more so, when, Sparano loses his job, the Dolphins will most likely promote current defensive coordinator Mike Nolan to the “interim” head coach role.  Nolan has head coaching experience in the NFL with the San Francisco 49ers, and has been considered one of the best, young, defensive minds in the game.  However, the Miami defense is currently one of the worst in the league, and Nolan has been criticized by Dolphins players for the schemes they are running.

The Dolphins are currently 0-6, following back-to-back losing seasons.
