Halloween Events

If you are looking for some family friendly Halloween fun, here are some events that are taking place in the surrounding counties throughout the holiday weekend. Some events are Halloween themed and others are just welcoming the new season of autumn. We have listed the events, locations and times, so that your family gets plenty of chances to partake in all the excitement.

PITT COUNTY Harvestfest: Greenville Convention Center October 31st 6pm – 9pm

Trunk or Treat: Christ’s Church @ 5 pm. 745 Davenport Farm Road, Winterville

Critters Trick or Treat Event: Monday, October 31, 2011 from 5:00 – 6:00pm at the Pitt County Animal Shelter

CRAVEN COUNTY The Good, the Bad and the Ugly: Thursday, October 27, 6-9 pm at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Masonic Theatre and Athens Theatre Entertainment (historic downtown New Bern)

Annual Parade of Preschoolers 2011: New Bern Parks Recreation’s annual Parade of Preschoolers on October 28th, at 9:30am. The kids parade down Middle Street in their favorite costumes and conclude at Union Point Park for a fall festival. The alternative (Rain) location is at West New Bern Recreation Center at 1225 Pinetree Drive (next to Kidsville).

Cornerstone Assembly of God Annual Harvest Festival: Oct 31, 2011 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. at 2304 Hwy 70E, New Bern, NC 28560.

FUN FEST: Oct 31, 5:15pm, Elm Grove Baptist Church 5403 Weyerhaeuser Rd., Ayden. A hotdog supper will be served from 5:45-6:45pm. The Trunk Treat, hayride and cupcake walk will be held from 6:30-7:30pm.

Hallelujah Night: Oct 31, 2011 6-8 pm, at Without Limits Christian Center at 2111 Neuse Blvd, Suite E, New Bern . A family friendly alternative to Halloween. Children up to age 12 are invited to attend with their parent(s)/guardian(s). Costumes are welcome, but no scary costumes.

PAMLICO COUNTY Oriental Marina Halloween Fest: Toucan grill and fresh bar Wednesday Oct. 26th through Friday Oct.28th — Pumpkin Carving with a live band Time: 4pm-7pm, the pumpkin carving judging starts at 9pm, live band from 8pm-12

LENIOR COUNTY Lenoir County SPCA Halloween Party: House of Wang Asian Bistro 710 W. Vernon Avenue, Kinston, Thursday, October 27, 2011 from 7-10 pm Event Description: Delicious American and Asian specialties from the House of Wang chef, fabulous entertainment, and all to help our community’s homeless animals! Halloween Costume Contest: $100 Grand prize, $50 runner-up! Costumes are optional. Fees/Admission: $30/person

Halloween “Spook”-tacular: October 29, 2010 from 6:30pm-9:30pm Event Description: The Kinston/Lenoir County Parks and Recreation Department are sponsoring this FREE Halloween event. It will include Trunk-or-Treat (ages 12 and under) from 6:30pm-7:30pm, Movie In The Park featuring Tim Burton’s “Coraline” (rated PG) and childrens crafts games. Food, hot chocolate and sweet treats will be available for a small fee. Event Location: Fairfield Park Fees/Admission: FREE Admission

Haunted Trail: October 30th and October 31st from 7PM-10PM Event Description: Come out to Bill Fay Park on October 30 and 31st from 7-10pm for the Haunted Trail. Admission to the trail is just $5.00 per person. Recommended ages for the trail: 8 and above. Other Halloweeen activities will be going on as well. Fees/Admission: $5.00

Spooktacular Event!: October 31st, 2008 @ 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM Event Description: Join us on Halloween day since our county schools are out that day! We have a great day planned for all youth who are of 4-H age. The event is free. We will be playing games, making an electric project and making Halloween foods! Contact the 4-H office to reserve your spot today! Event Location: Rockingham County 4-H office
