ATLANTA — There are tons of fun events going on this weekend, in your area. We’ve listed a few of them for you to check out with your family and friends.

The East Atlanta Village will be action-packed, this weekend. Come out for the 14th Annual East Atlanta Strut, which is a yearly one day extravaganza which includes live music, comedy, a 5K Run/Walk, Artists Market and food. The village is located at the intersection of Glenwood and Flat Shoals Road and the festival begins at 10:00 a.m.

The How Sweet the Sound Choir and Gospel Concert will be held at Philips Arena on Saturday, September 17. Organizers want you to “raise your praise hands ad experience and anointing as incredible choirs and gospel celebrities rock the house during this empowering evening”. The concert will be held at Philips Arena and tickets are available on Ticketmaster. 

Hide your teenage daughter and, probably, all of her friends but the Biebs in the A-T-L. The Friends of Georgia Music Fesitval, Inc. will be hosting the 33rd Annual Georgia Music Hall of Fame Award Show. The show will feature performances from Usher Raymond and Justin Bieber. Among those being honored are Toni Braxton and Jan Smith. The show will be held on September 17 at 8:00 p.m.

The City of Milton will host their Hayden’s Walk for Autism Awareness on Saturday. The walk will be held to raise awareness for children and adults who are affected by autism. Milton resident, Hayden Moore is an Alpharetta High School sophomore and he was diagnosed with autism when he was 2; he has since become a champion for autism.

The Sandy Springs Lightning 10K has been known as one of the fastest races in Georgia for 21 years. The race is designed for runners who like flat courses and want to partake in the scenery of the scenic Sandy Springs community. The Doug Kessler race is one of the most popular Peachtree Road race qualifiers. Sign-up for the race online here. The race will be held on September 17.  

According to the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau, “The lights will not be any brighter in Atlanta than during this game. It has all the elements for the making of a classic match-up between two NFC power houses”. Michael Vick is coming back to the Georgia Dome as a starting quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles. Watch as Vick makes a comeback in the city where he started. Tickets can be purchased online at Ticketmaster. The game will be held at the Georgia Dome on Sunday at 8:20 p.m.

Get a taste of O4W with the Atlanta Culinary Tour. The tours mock the feeling of a personal dining experience. During the tours, chefs spend time with diners and chat with them about their history and the history of the selected fare. The tour visits Parrish, Savi Urban Market, Park’s Edge and P’cheen.  

On Sunday, the Love is Love Wedding Show will be held at the W Atlanta-Midtown. The wedding shoe is celebrating marriage equality and same-sex weddings with an intimate showcase of the city’s gay-friendly wedding vendors. This event is free and you don’t have to RSVP and the first 50 registered guests to arrive at the event will receive a free VIP gift bag. The show will be held in The Altitude Room on 188 14th Street in Atlanta.

Ohiogozaimasu, come out and learn what that and other things means at the JapanFest, which is one of the largest Japanese festivals in the country.  JapanFest is an annual celebration of Japanese culture hosted by the the Japan-America Society of Georgia, The Japanese Chamber of Commerce of Georgia, and the Consulate General of Japan in Atlanta. JapanFest will feature taiko drum concerts and dance performances, martial arts demonstrations and much more. The festival is being held at the Gwinnett Center on September 17.

According to the Cobb County CVB, they’re inviting you to “taste the good life” at the third annual Cobb County Restaurant Week, September 17 and 18. On Saturday and Sunday, participating restaurants will offer pre-selected three-course lunch and dinner menus for $20 per person not including beverage, tax and gratuity.
