There are 29 fire hydrants available with a $10 minimum bid, including such name brands as American Darling, Waterous, Iowa and Rensselar.
There are evidence collection kits, metal detectors and change counters. The sale has a radiological monitor (plus charger) and anti-static rope in 150- and 300-foot lengths.
There are a couple of motorcycles and a dozen vehicles for sale, ranging from pickup trucks to Crown Victorias. Before the vehicles can be registered, the winning bidders must get smog certificates as needed.
There are projectors, overhead projectors, TVs, DVD players, VCRs, more than a dozen cameras, mostly digital, including a couple of Polaroids.
The sale has printers and scanners, laptops and desktops, monitors and mice for sale. For people who want a backup when the computers fail, there are also a couple typewriters available. (All the computers are missing hard drives for security reasons.)
Wreaths, garlands, ornaments, lights, icicles and ribbon are available, as are trees, tree stands, and tree skirts for sale.

Most of the property may be inspected at the Purchasing Office, 2525 O St, 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
All items are sold as is and there is no warranty or guarantee on the items. Bidders are expected to inspect the items before submitting a bid. Proposals will be accepted until 9 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, at the Purchasing Office. In most cases, winners must pick up their equipment within 14 days. Payment must be made in cash, cashiers check or money order. No personal checks. Additional details are available at the Purchasing Office.
