• ALGONA — Rotary Flight Breakfast will be at the Algona Airport
with a pancake breakfast, fly-ins, airplane rides and display.

• BRITT — An open house will be from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Britt
Fire Department’s new facility with demonstrations, children’s
activities, food and door prizes.

• CARPENTER — State Line Polka Club will have a free dance with
Larry J from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Carpenter Community
Center.

• CLEAR LAKE — The Clear Lake Fire Department will serve its
17th annual pancake breakfast from at 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the new
fire station, corner of North Eighth Street and Second Avenue
North. Cost is $5; children under 12 are free if accompanied by an
adult.

• FOREST CITY — Opera star Kristinn Sigmundsson will perform at
7:30 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Tickets are $10 adults, $5
students.

• GREENE — St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greene will have a fall
festival from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a family-style turkey dinner,
raffle, drawings at 12:30 p.m. and an auction at 1 p.m.

• MASON CITY — Jazz Coalition Big Band will play from 6 to 9
p.m. at Mulligans Bar Grill, 2791 Fourth St. S.E.

• MASON CITY — A benefit auction for Angie Heaford will be 11
a.m. to 5 p.m. at Willow Run Lounge, 2821 Fourth St. S.W., with
raffles, silent auction, lunch, bake sale and live auction at 2
p.m. 

• MASON CITY — The 18th annual Civil War Battle and Encampment
is in East Park with a period church service, artillery and
infantry drills, period music, food vendors and Battle of Wilson’s
Creek.

• MASON CITY — “The Taffetas” will be presented at 2 and 5 p.m.
at Stebens Children’s Theatre, 616 N. Delaware Ave. Tickets are $10

• MASON CITY — “Work Song-Three Views of Frank Lloyd Wright”
will be presented at 2 p.m. at Mason City Community Theatre, 215 S.

• MASON CITY — Jonathan Lipman will give a lecture at 2 p.m. in
the Ballroom of The Historic Park Inn Hotel. Free.

• MASON CITY — The River City RC club’s annual fun fly will be
at 10 a.m. at its new flying field at the North Iowa
Fairgrounds.

• MASON CITY — The 1133rd Family Readiness Group will hold a
family picnic and community open house from noon to 4 p.m. at the
National Guard Armory with food, games for the kids and a military
equipment display.

• ROCKWELL — Master’s Voice will perform at 10:30 a.m. at the
Rockwell United Methodist Church, 303 Monroe St. E., followed by a
potluck in the fellowship hall.

• WESLEY — St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Fall Festival will be at
the Wesley Community Center with a turkey supper from 3:30 to 7:30
p.m. and raffle.
