FRENCH OPTION FOR BAKER SPEEDSTER

Humidor could be supplemented for the Qatar Prix de l’Abbaye following his Listed success at Doncaster.

The four-year-old showed he would not be out of place in the top sprints when landing the Scarbrough Stakes on Wednesday in cosy fashion.

Trainer George Baker regrets not giving his speedster an entry in the Group One dash at Longchamp on October 2, but has not ruled out putting him at the supplementary stage.

“Humidor is absolutely fine this morning. He seems best fresh,” said Baker.

“The owners and myself are kicking ourselves that we didn’t enter him in the Abbaye but there is the supplementary option.

“Even though the ground was good yesterday there was plenty of juice in it and I think that suits him.

“So whether the boys want to stump up the fee or not we’ll see, but there are a couple of overseas options for him.

“There’s also a race at Ascot in 10 days’ time, but that may come a bit quick.

“When you’ve got the right man on top (Frankie Dettori) it makes a difference and it makes a nice change to be able to put the top men up and give them a few winners.”
