SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Notre Dame’s games notes for Saturday’s showdown at Michigan offered little clarity as to who will take the first snap with the offense, as the Fighting Irish listed Dayne Crist or Tommy Rees as its No. 1 quarterback on its weekly depth chart.
There were no other depth chart changes between the Week 1 and Week 2 releases.
Head coach Brian Kelly said Sunday he hoped to have a decision on his starting quarterback Monday. He meets with the media for his weekly news conference at noon Tuesday, when a decision will likely be announced.
Rees, a sophomore, started the second half Saturday against South Florida with the Irish down 16-0 after senior Crist went 7-for-15 for 95 yards and an interception. Rees finished the game 24-of-34 for 296 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions in the eventual 23-20 loss.
