Annapolis Royal Farmers Market

The market runs each Saturday throughout the summer until the Thanksgiving weekend. In July and August, the market runs on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. until noon.

Blossom to Harvest

Until Sept. 30 An exhibit on the Annapolis Valley’s apple industry and heritage, now showing at Annapolis Valley Macdonald Museum, 21 School St, Middleton. Includes photos, information, and various items relating to the history of apple production in Nova Scotia, planting and picking apples, even the Apple Blossom Festival. Community Fair

SEPTEMBER 3 Come to the 74th Western Kings Community Fair in Tremont. Events: 9:30 cattle judging and light horse classes; 10:00 Children’s Parade; 10:30 Pet Judging; Horse and Oxen pulls all day, also Ladies Horse Pull. Arts, crafts, flowers, fruit and veggies on display 9am to 5 pm. Men’s Ladies Cross Cut Competition at 4:00. Entertainment from 1-4 pm 6-8 pm. Dinner served on grounds from 11:30 to 1:00 and supper from 4:30 to 6:00. Admission is $4 and children under 12 years are free. Six gate prizes.

Fundy Folk Night at the Evergreen Theatre

September 3, at 8 pm. The Evergreen returns (for an evening) to its Fundy Folk roots.  As in the

old Fundy Folk Nights at the Margaretsville Fire Hall, a selection of local performers will be presented. Bluesman Caleb Miles from Bridgetown, Naming the Twins from Shelburne and Roger Ellis and Tim Fancey from Margaretsville will all be featured. Cost $17. Coffee League Bowling

September 8 The Thursday Morning Coffee League Bowling Season will be starting on September 8 at LMK Lanes in Middleton. Annual meeting starts at 9:30 a.m. with league bowling following at approx 10 a.m. We have some openings to fill on our teams and we need spares. Wine Appreciation
