Tangerine Trees returned to winning form with a game all-the-way success in the Listed totepool Beverley Bullet Stakes.
Powering up the stands rail, the Bryan Smart-trained six-year-old had Duchess Dora and Dinkum Diamond in close proximity through the final furlong, but was not for passing.
Smart’s Mind Games gelding, sent off at 10-1, was having his first run since finishing last of 19 in the King Stand’s Stakes at Royal Ascot. Earlier in the season he had won the Palace House Stakes at Newmarket, and clearly relished the drop in grade.
