What’s being done? What’s not being done? Why not? When will the work that is in progress be finished?
As always, roadwork is among the top concerns among the TWI readership. These are perennial questions our readers constantly ask us to find answers to.
To that end, here’s a rundown of PennDOT roadwork being done throughout our coverage area:
MAINTENANCE PROJECTS
• Route 652 Berlin Township: Shoulder Cutting, road work, pothole patching, sealing — Lane restrictions, Monday, Aug. 22 to Friday, Aug. 26. Expect delays from 7am to 3pm.
• Route 1003 (Oregon Road) Oregon Township: Oil chip/resurfacing —Lane restrictions, Monday, Aug. 22 to Friday, Aug. 26. Expect delays from 7am to 3pm.
• Route 1016 (Callicoon Road) Damascus Township: Oil chip/resurfacing — Lane restrictions, Monday, Aug. 22 to Friday, Aug. 26. Expect delays from 7am to 3pm.
• Route 1018 Pine Mill: Bridge work — Road Closure, Signed detours
• Route 1023 (Pine Mill Road) Lebanon/Manchester Townships: Oil chip/resurfacing — Lane restrictions, Monday, Aug. 22 to Friday, Aug. 26. Expect delays from 7am to 3pm.
• Route 1031 Damascus: Bridge work — Road Closure, Signed detours
• Route 2002 (Capri Road) Paupack Township: Shoulder cutting, road work, pothole patching, sealing — Lane restrictions, Monday, Aug. 22 to Friday, Aug. 26. Expect delays from 7am to 3pm.
• Route 3008 (Goose Pond Road), Salem Township: PIPE REPLACEMENT: ROAD WILL BE CLOSED, WITH DETOUR Monday, Aug. 22 to Friday, Aug. 26.
• Route 3028 (Owego Turnpike) Cherry Ridge Township: Drainage, road work, pothole patching, sealing — Lane restrictions, Monday, Aug. 22 to Friday, Aug. 26. Expect delays from 7am to 3pm.
• Route 4007 (Upperwoods Road) Lebanon Township: Boom mower, road work, pothole patching, sealing — Lane restrictions, Monday, Aug. 22 to Friday, Aug. 26. Expect delays from 7am to 3pm.
• Route 4011 (Golf Hill Road) Texas Township: Shoulder cutting, road work, pothole patching, sealing — Lane restrictions, Monday, Aug. 22 to Friday, Aug. 26. Expect delays from 7am to 3pm.
• Various traffic routes in Scott Township and Preston Township: Roadside mowing, road work, pothole patching, sealing — Lane restrictions, Monday, Aug. 22 to Friday, Aug. 26. Expect delays from 7am to 3pm.
LONG-TERM CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS:
• Route 6, Honesdale: Long term utility project. Single lane both directions between the Wayne County Hospital entrance and 9th St, from the new bridge to the Casey Hwy. Work is 7pm-6am, Sunday-Wednesday nights
• Route 370, Preston Twp: (Near Orsen): Shoulder restricted; posted for 18-ton vehicles/33 ton combinations. Bridge has been reduced to 1 lane with a lane restriction of 9 feet. Temporary traffic signals are being used for traffic control. This is so repairs can be made to the existing bridge structure. Anticipated completion is now October 15.
• Route 371, between Route 247 and Route 191 — Posted detour for construction project. Anticipated completion is September 15.
• Route 1018: A bridge located at the intersection with Rte 1023 is closed with a signed detour.
• Route 1018 over Equinunk Creek, Stalker Road, Manchester Twp: Bridge replacement. Anticipated project completion November 15. Temporary roadway.
• Route 1031, Damascus Township: Bridge replacement. DETOUR: (18 mi) Route 1031 to Route 371 West to 1025 North to 1014 East to 1031 South. First bridge is now complete; anticipated completion of second bridge is September 5. Work includes tearing out the old deck, replacing superstructure, setting beams and guiderail.
• Route 3019, between the intersection of 3021 and Bob Black Road will be restricted to 1 lane for repairs from August 22 to August 31. Temporary stop signs will be located a each end of the bridge for traffic control. This bridge will have a maximum width restriction of 10 feet. This bridge is located near Maplewood.
• Route 3024, Middle Creek Bridge over Middle Creek, Hoadleys, Cherry Ridge Township: Closed for replacement between 3037 and Rte 191. Detour: Rte 3026 to 3037 Cadwalder Rd to 3039 Melody Rd.
• Route 4008, Niagara Road, Pleasant Mount: Bridge repair — building a stone arch, concrete deck and stone face on bridge. Anticipated completion – November 15.
• Township Road, Kellums Bridge in Equinunk (Dukes Road) — inspection; abutment work; abutment one is complete, waiting on design plans for abutment two – on temporary hold. Anticipated completion, April 2012.
