The North Hudson Pepper Festival is scheduled Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 19-21, at Pepper Fest Park in North Hudson. The three-day celebration honors the community’s Italian heritage and includes great Italian food, a carnival, parade, queen coronation, spaghetti and hot pepper eating contests and much more.

Kid, doll and pet parade
The kid, doll and pet parade is scheduled at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, at North Hudson Elementary. Registration begins at 1 p.m. Parade participants must be sixth grade or younger. No motor driven vehicles are permitted. The Theme is “Out of This World.”
Grand parade
The Pepper Fest Grand Parade is Saturday, Aug. 20, at 11 a.m. Those wishing to enter should complete a parade application which can be found online. The parade begins at the intersection of Lemon Street and Michaelson Street North, running west down Michaelson and then south on Sixth Street N. (Hwy. 35) to St. Croix Street No.
Pepper cooking contest
The amateur food cooking contest is Saturday, Aug. 20, outside the North Hudson Village Hall from 2-4 p.m. Categories include adult and under 14. Adult categories are appetizer/side dish, main dish and dessert. The under 14 category is chef’s choice. Each dish must contain peppers.
Spaghetti pepper eating contests
The Championship Spaghetti contest begins at 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20. Teams of five will eat one pound of spaghetti each in hopes of the top prize of $75 and a T-shirt for each winning team member. The second place team earns $50. The entry fee is $25.
The Championship Hot Pepper Eating contest begins at 6 p.m. Teams of five will eat one pound of hot peppers each in hopes of the top prize of $200 and a T-shirt for each winning team member. The second place team earns $100. The entry fee is $50.
Foot races
The Pepper Fest Foot Races are new and improved this year. They will be professionally timed and results will be available online after the race. The one-mile family fun walk/run, 5K and 10K runs are Saturday, Aug. 20, beginning at the North Hudson Village Hall. Registration is online at Tags:
