Dover Athletic have slapped defender Olly Schulz on the transfer list over an “internal disciplinary” matter.

The 25-year-old has been a mainstay in the Dover defence ever since signing for the Whites from Ramsgate at the end of the 2007/2008 season. The club have declined to comment further on the matter and the defender, who only signed a one-year contract extension at the end of May, was left out of the Dover side for their opening game of the season against Dorchester Town at Crabble.

Martin Hayes’ side got the new Conference South campaign off to the perfect start with a resounding 4-0 win. Summer signing Billy Bricknell opened his and Dover’s account after 15 minutes, while fellow new boy George Purcell netted three minutes later to give the Whites a 2-0 lead.

The points were effectively wrapped up on 23 minutes when Purcell added a second, and while Lee Hook had a good game in goal, denying Dorchester a way back into the game, Dover made sure of the win with Bricknell’s second just after the hour mark.

The Whites are back in action on Tuesday night when they make the trip to Ship Lane to play Thurrock United. Kick-off is at 7.45pm.
