Sangre school property listed for sale

MOSCA-HOOPER Want to own a piece of Sangre de Cristo Schools history? It is as easy as buying a piece of the school districts property.

With the completion of the new K-12 BEST school, the Sangre de Cristo School District has pieces of property it no longer needs. The property is up for sale through Porter Realty.

It takes about 30 days to handle all the little details involved with listing multiple buildings like these before we actually post them on our web site (www.porterrealty.com), said Preston Porter. It will take about the same amount of time before we post the Alamosa School District buildings.

The properties in Hooper are the main school building ($195,000), the gymnasium/cafeteria ($185,000), the pre-school building ($195,000), the kindergarten and music building ($195,000), the 3-6 grade classroom building ($195,000), the bus maintenance shop ($25,000) and the bus storage Quonset ($9,500).

The Mosca properties are the main campus ($366,500) and the superintendent home ($140,000).

The Hooper main school building is the original school building for the district. It has 10,732 square feet, and comes with 1.84 acres.

The gymnasium/cafeteria has 14,668 square feet and comes with 1.42 acres. It was built in the 1980s, and the interior ceiling height is 24 feet.

The pre-school building has 768 square feet and sits on 1.84 acres. It is basically one large room with a bathroom and two storage closets.

The kindergarten and music building, 2,904 square feet, sits on 1.84 acres. It has been renovated, inside and out, within the last three years.

The 3-6 grade building was built in the 1970s. It has 4,550 square feet and comes with 1.84 acres of land. It has four classrooms and two large bathrooms.

The bus maintenance shop was constructed in the 1970s and has 1,488 square feet. It sits on .11 acres of land.

The bus storage Quonset, 5,280 square feet and located on 1.07 acres, has a concrete footer and gravel floor. It is wired for electric.

There are three Mosca properties, the high school, the ag shop/classroom, and a residence known as the superintendents home. The residence, priced at $140,000, is not ready to sell yet because it is tied up in a lease and also because its water and septic system is tied into the main school property.

The high school, 35,687 square feet and sitting on 35.44 acres, is priced at $366,500. It was built in the 1970s and has classrooms, a kitchen, a cafeteria, gym and district offices.

The ag shop and classroom, 5,533 square feet, and the old gymnasium, 8,124 square feet, are also for sale.

Porter said there has already been some interest shown in the Sangre de Cristo school districts buildings.

Im willing to listen to creative thoughts on how these buildings can be utilized, he said. Call me at 719-589-5899 and lets talk.
