MMSC offers fun, educational events

The Marine Mammal Stranding Center at 3625 Brigantine Blvd., Brigantine, is a rehabilitation center for marine mammals and sea turtles. Come visit our museum full of marine mammal artifacts and educational exhibits, an observation tank, gift shop, and more. Admission is free. Public hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.

 

A beach walk and seining activities are held throughout August. Call (609) 266-0538 for dates or information on events listed below. Cost is $5 per child.

Calendar of events:

Sunset Seining and Beach Walk 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11; Friday, Aug. 12; Tuesday, Aug. 16; and Monday, Aug. 22. Take an educational beach walk with the staff of MMSC, and try your hand at seining in the inlet of The Cove. Cost is $5 per child. No registration required.

Mock Sea Turtle Stranding Camp Friday, Aug. 12 at the Marine Mammal Stranding Center. Learn all about sea turtles and the reasons they strand. Learn how to help a stranded sea turtle, make observations, and take measurements. For ages 7 and up; pre-registration required.
