Rock Jock could be York bound after landing a well-deserved success in a Listed race at Chester on Sunday.
The four-year-old had only won one of his 24 previous races, and that was back in September 2009, before he chalked up victory in the Queensferry Stakes on the Roodee.
Connections of the Tracey Collins-trained gelding are now keen to take him to the Knavesmire where the Debenhams City of York Stakes on August 20 is a possible target.
“He’d be knocking on the door in a lot of those races so it was good to get his head in front,” said the Curragh handler.
“He’s come out of the race really well. He’ll probably head to York. His owner is over for a month, he’s going to York and there one or two races there for him that he can compete in.
“The City of York Listed race is a possible on the last day over seven furlongs.”
