an aquatic food chain, how humans can affect it and what
conservation practices can help enhance the health of an aquatic

DISCOVER NATURE WOMEN: CANOEING FISHING THE MERAMEC RIVER
will take place from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Aug. 12 on the Meramec River
near Eureka, between Pacific Palisades Conservation Area and the
Allenton Access. Event is open to ages 10 and up and women only.
This is a seven-mile float. Participants will learn about aquatic
ecosystems, flooding, erosion, how wildlife survive in a changing
river world and the role humans play in protecting the aquatic
resources. Participants must be good swimmers and have at least one
participant over 18 years of age per canoe. The dates are for three
separate float opportunities and only one float per family is
allowed. Participants should bring snacks, lunch and sunscreen.

FAMILY SUMMER SERIES returns at 10 a.m. every Wednesday and
Thursday, ending Aug. 4, at various Wehrenberg Theatres. St.
Charles County theaters include: Mid Rivers 14 Cine, 1220 Mid

St. Charles Community College will host an exhibit titled ART
EXTRAVAGANZA featuring artwork from continuing education students
and instructors through Aug. 6 in the gallery of the Donald D.
Shook Fine Arts Building, 4601 Mid Rivers Mall Drive in
