Council puts Bath properties on the market

Buildings owned by Bath and North East Somerset Council in Long Acre on London Road have been put up for sale.

The two buildings include a 1,700 sq ft Grade II Listed four-storey town house and a two-story ‘shell’ that has 1,485 sq ft of space. Both properties have a rear courtyard.

The buildings are located less than a mile from Bath city centre and they have fallen into disrepair, so Colliers International has been appointed to look for potential buyers and leaseholders for the buildings.

Chris Dawson, spokesman for Colliers International, said: “The idea is to see what interest there is generally in the buildings and to invite proposals for the conversion or refurbishment from both private organisations and the voluntary and community sector.

“These are two prominent buildings in a Conservation Area. We will be advising the council on what they can expect if they sell the properties and what options there might be for leaseholders.”

The council said it wanted the buildings to be brought back into use, to boost economic regeneration in the area.
