Wild Coco looks another smart filly for Sir Henry Cecil
“Wild Coco looked a smart prospect when running away with a Haydock maiden last month and that form has worked out remarkably well.”
Timeform go through the field for this listed race for fillies and mares…
Ceilidh House was much improved for the fitting of a tongue strap when winning a 17-runner listed race over a mile and a quarter at Doncaster in November. She was a promising third to Timepiece at Warwick on her reappearance, shaping as if a return to this longer trip would suit.
Gallic Star ran well without managing a win in listed/pattern company at up to a mile and a half in 2010, but has been operating below that level so far this year, not offering enough to warrant support in a race like this.
Meeznah has just a maiden win to her name, but proved herself a smart filly, including when second past the post in the Oaks. She ran respectably at this level on her reappearance and this probably a slightly weaker race.
Never Forget was formerly trained in France where she won a mile-and-a-half Group 2 last summer. She failed by a long way to match that form on her first run for Luca Cumani in May and has something to prove after that.
Opera Gal made up into a useful performer last year and has carried on the good work this time round, making the frame in three handicaps. Her limitations were apparently exposed in this company last time, though.
Plaisterer is a tail flasher who came back with a bang in her reappearance, winning a mile-and-a-half handicap at Haydock. She hasn’t matched that since, including when sixth in a race like this at Newcastle last month.
Sea of Heartbreak has won four times at up to a mile and a half and had a solid first crack at pattern company when runner-up at Newmarket in May. She has run well in listed races both starts since and is unlikely to be far away again.
Charleston Lady showed a good turn of foot when getting off the mark at the second time of asking in a maiden at Kempton in October. She ran well but second on her reappearance back in May but Ceilidh House looks the stable pick.
Imperial Pippin showed a likeable attitude when wmaking a winning debut in April and has shown better form when placed at this level twice since. She is open to further improvement up in trip but has plenty to find with some of these.
Monicalew belatedly confirmed her early promise when landing a handicap at Bath last week. This longer trip should be in her favour but she faces a very stiff task all the same.
Wild Coco fully confirmed the promise of her debut when bolting up in a maiden at Haydock last month and that form has been handsomely boosted since. She is well worth her chance at this level.
Timeform 1-2-3:
1. Wild Coco
2. Ceilidh House
3. Meeznah
Timeform View: Wild Coco looked a smart prospect when running away with a Haydock maiden last month and that form has worked out remarkably well. She is well worth her place in this company and is taken to get the better of Ceilidh House and the consistent Meeznah.
