There are a multitude of festivals and activities this weekend in North Central West Virginia.
Barbour County
Adaland Mansion will host a Civil War Fashion Show and Tea beginning at noon on Saturday. Doug Riley, History Alive presenter will portray “Stonewall Jackson. At 1 p.m., there will be a full buffet with Victorian tea served on the pavilion followed by a fashion show with narration and live models wearing reproductions of Civil War Era clothing. Fort New Salem is hosting Christmas in July on July 16 and 17 from 3 to 8 p.m. featuring Spirit of Christmas in July. Admission is $3 and children under 13 can get in free. For more information visit fortnewsalemfoundation.org or call 304-695-2220.
Marion County
Heston Farm and Winery is hosting the Johnnie Johnson Blue and Jazz Festival July 15 to July 17. A weekend pass is $30 and children under 12 can get in for free when accompanied by an adult. Visit it’s website for more information.
Monongalia County
Morgantown Kid’s Day will be going on throughout downtown Morgantown and the Wharf District from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. The Morgantown Public Library will be offering giveaways including bookmarks, stickers, craft kits and more. The Mon Valley Railroad Club at 128 Pleasant Street will host a model railroad extravaganza in connection with Kid’s Day. Visit downtownmorgantown.com for details.
Morgantown’s 9th Annual RibFest will kickoff at 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday at the Morgantown Events Center. Admission is free but there is a $5 fee for parking. Visit this website for details.
Preston County
The 15th annual All Good Music Festival is July 14 to 17 in Masontown. You can buy tickets at the Ramada Inn in Morgantown or at the gate. For more information visit the festival website.
Good Neighbor Days in Bruceton Mills is going on through Saturday. There will be a chicken barbecue at 11 a.m., big bucks bingo from 3 to 6 p.m. and bingo at 6 p.m., which is when the fair and rides open. Fireworks are at 10 p.m.
The Arthurdale Heritage will be celebrating Preston County History Day on Sunday in Arthurdale, Kingwood, Rowlesburg, Terra Alta and Tunnelton. Events will occur at various historical sites throughout the area. For more information, visit the Arthurdale Heritage website.
The annual Alpine Lake Bluegrass Festival is July 16 in Terra Alta. The feature band is the Hillbilly Gypsies. Craft vendors are on-site. Shelter is provided from the sun and rain. Advance tickets are $20 for adults and $12 for children 12 and under. Gate tickets are $25 adult and $15 for children. Advance tickets may be purchased at the lodge or by calling 800-752-7179 ext. 152.
Upshur County
