Beer calendar: Jul. 16 through Jul. 31

WASHINGTON, July 12, 2011 — Beer is a social beverage. Drinking a beer can be quite pleasurable, but enjoying it in a convivial atmosphere with like-minded friends and strangers alike can create fun times and great memories.

To that end, on the 12th and 27th of every month, After Hours publishes a semi-monthly calendar of beer events covering the Mid-Atlantic region from New Jersey through Virginia.

Are you a brewer, a bar owner, an event organizer, or promoter that would like to see your event listed here? Be sure to drop a note to the columnist, Bryan Kolesar, and provide all of the important details.

The dog days of summer are settling in across the Mid-Atlantic region, but that does not stop the best bars and breweries from filling the beer calendar during the second half of July. Read on for some of the best ways to stay cool this summer.
