Fourth of July celebration. City of Plattsburgh. Lineup for parade begins at 12:30 near Wilcox Dock, theme “Red, White and Blue.” Parade starts at 2 p.m. Entertainment downtown, 2 to 11 p.m., on the city’s portable stage. Fireworks downtown, 9:20 p.m.

Events in Bicentennial Park. 1:45 p.m., Montcalm Mile footrace, Montcalm Street Bed Races; 2 p.m., Fourth of July Parade down Montcalm Street to Tower Avenue; 4 to 5:30 p.m., James Cawley Elvis show; 5:30 to 7 p.m., Flipside band; 7 to 10 p.m., Danny Ray Edwards band; dusk, fireworks display.
Lake Placid Fourth of July. Independence Day Parade, 5 p.m. along Main Street. “Set the Night to Music” fireworks show over Mirror Lake with musical soundtrack simultaneously broadcast on radio station WSLP 93.3 FM. Independence Day Celebration at the Conference Center at Lake Placid 8 to 11 p.m. View from Lookout Gallery of fireworks. Liquid nitrogen ice cream, cash bar. Open to public. I Love New York Barbecue and Music Festival. 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Olympic Oval, Lake Placid. Daily admission: $6 for adults, under 10, free. Children’s Storytime and Crafting. Jay Fire Department’s annual Independence Day celebration. Noon. Volunteer Fire Department, Jay. Parade, food, greased pole, local band Lucid. Fireworks at dusk. 2011 Run to the Beer Tent. 2 p.m. Devin’s Garage, Jay. Sponsored by the Jay Fire Department. 2.5 mile run from Devin’s to the Beer Tent. $10.
Chamber of Commerce free concert in the park. 7 p.m. Riverside Park, Saranac Lake. Featured musicians Roy Hurd and Junior Barber. Bring a lawn chair. Followed by fireworks. Free.
