LEHIGH ACRES –

A Lehigh Acres woman made the startling discovery that her house is listed on a for-sale-by-owner website. But she has no intentions of going anywhere.

The listing states the home has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a two-car garage, a renovated kitchen featuring stainless compliances.

It’s a Lehigh Acres listing for less than $100,000.

The trouble is it’s not for sale.

Sunday afternoon, Elaine Floyd discovered her house is listed on a for-sale-by-owner website.

“Lady just appeared in my driveway and asked if our home was for sale. I said, ‘No.’ I looked around, ‘Is there a sign that I’m not aware of?'” she asked.

The woman showed Floyd her house on a for-sale-by-owner website called Yigdigs.com.

“She was very nice and said she was disappointed – said she had two small children she was looking for a home just like this,” Floyd remembered.

Floyd called the company on Sunday, demanding her home be removed from the website.

But Thursday, it was still online.

“They said, ‘Well, we have our engineers working on it, but we can’t make any promises,'” Floyd said.

She says the company is giving her the runaround and that she’s now concerned about her safety.

“Just by chance that this person showed up at my home and then not knowing who else may show up at my home looking at it, looking around it or in the windows when no one is home, it is a great concern,” Floyd said.

We talked to Realtor Marion Briggs. She says she doesn’t know how this could have happened.

The multiple listing service for the Floyds’ property is inactive since they bought it last August.

But she said she has an idea how to fix it.

“It would scare me enough that I would probably put a no trespassing sign in the front yard,” Briggs said.

We tried to contact officials with Yigdigs.com Thursday, but did not receive a response.
