• CHARLES CITY — Youth Fest will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lions
Field Park with Sheltered Reality, petting zoo, skateboarding
demonstration and arts activities. Rain site is Charles City Middle
School.
• CHARLES CITY — The Charles City Downtown Farmers Market is
open 9 a.m.-noon in Central Park.
• CLEAR LAKE — Yoga by the Lake will be 7 to 8 a.m. next to the
Yacht Club near City Park. Rain site is City Hall.
• CLEAR LAKE — The Clear Lake Municipal Band will perform at 7
p.m. in City Park.
• HANLONTOWN — Sundown Day includes a parade, kids pedal tractor
pull and games, and the Hanlontown Citizens Savings Bank Museum is
open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• JOICE — The Joice Public Library, 201 Main St., will celebrate
its 50th anniversary with an open house from 1 to 3 p.m. Ice cream
and cupcakes will be served.
• KLEMME — Klemme Ag Days continues in City Park, with a parade,
games, petting zoo, antique cars and tractors, alumni tent,
demonstrations and Al Bell film festival at 7 p.m. in the Community
Building.
• MASON CITY — The Main Street Market is open 8 a.m. to noon on
the north side of Central Park.
• MASON CITY — The Greek Festival will be 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at
the Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church, 1311 Second St.
S.W., with food, music, dancing and kids games and face
painting.
• MASON CITY — Mason City native and New York Times best-selling
author Heather (Schmida) Gudenkauf will discuss her novels, “The
Weight of Silence” and “These Things Hidden,” at 2 p.m. in the
Mason City Room of the public library.
• MASON CITY — “James and the Giant Peach” will be presented at
7 p.m. at Stebens Children’s Theatre, 616 N. Delaware Ave. Tickets
are $10 for adults and $8 for youth 18 and under.
• MASON CITY — The Mason City Community Theatre will present
“Crimes of the Heart” at 7 p.m. Tickets are $14 for adults and $8
for students.
• MASON CITY — Kyd N Tre will perform from 6 p.m. to midnight at
the Rose Bowl with B.A.M., Des Moines natives Nu Depths,
Killuminati Klick, Buck and Chris Jones. Tickets are $5.
• MASON CITY — Michael Betz will play from 6 to 9 p.m. at
Ralph’s Garden Cafe, 5 S. Federal Ave.
• MASON CITY — Mason City Police Department’s triathlon begins
at 9 a.m. with registration from 7 to 8:30 a.m. at the Mason City
Family Aquatic Center, 843 Birch Drive ($35 individual/$60 team).
Food and beverages will be available.
• MASON CITY — A free genealogical workshop will begin at 9:30
a.m. at The Manor, Four Third St. N.W.
• NORTHWOOD — Worth County Fair continues with a midway, tractor
pull at 5:30 p.m. in the grandstand and Kilroy at 7:30 p.m. in the
Shelter House. Free grandstand entertainment with a $10 booster
button.
• ROCKWELL — A benefit for Kathy “Snicker” Siefken will be 5-7
p.m. at the Sacred Heart Parish Hall, 316 Third St. N., with a
freewill donation beefburger dinner, bake sale and raffle
drawing.
• RUDD — Rudd United Methodist Church will have a barbecue
chicken supper from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Rudd gym. Cost is $6
and is free for children 3 and younger.
• ST. ANSGAR — Oatmeal Day includes a parade, bike ride, oatmeal
pancake eating contest, oatmeal bakeoff competition, kids
activities and street dance.
