Presentation – “Voices From Afghanistan,” a presentation by Scott Schaeffer-Duffy, international peace activist will be held on Sunday, June 19 at St. Susanna Church, 262 Needham St. Schaeffer-Duffy is founder and co-director of the St. Francis and Therese Catholic Worker Community in Worcester. Founded in 1933, the Catholic Worker is a lay movement serving the poor while denouncing injustice and proclaiming peace. He will report on his recent travels to Afghanistan as a member of a March 2011 fact-finding mission to the war-torn land. He will be offering breads following all weekend masses to help support his ongoing ministry at the Catholic Worker House. A wide variety of homemade breads from his “Bread Not Bombs” bakery will be available. Free will donations are acceptable for these delicious, fresh breads.
