Two Sacramento-area schools made the list of the top 10 performing charters in the state, according to a study by the University of Southern California released today.
Rocklin Academy in Rocklin was listed as the second best-performing charter school in the state based on academic ratings and per-student spending, according to a press release from the university.
St. Hope Public School 7 in Sacramento was No. 8 on the list.
This is the first year that USC has compiled the list as part of its annual report on charter schools.
“We were really struck by the diversity of the schools in the top 10,” said Priscilla Wohlstetter, director of the Center on Educational Governance. “There’s not one model of schooling that is dominant: they are large and small, urban and suburban, high schools and elementary schools.”
