Huntsman invites donors aboard announcement jet

Former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr. will officially announce Tuesday that he’s running for president — and he’s inviting donors to watch the speech and then head on a chartered plane to a rally in New Hampshire and back to New York City for a dinner.

Huntsman’s team sent out an invite today for the “Jon Huntsman Announcement Tour,” that offers a VIP spot for donors at the big speech in Liberty State Park, N.J. and a rally in Exeter, New Hampshire.

“In addition to the listed events, you will join governor and Mrs. Huntsman on board the announcement day aircraft,” the pitch reads.

The invite says it is “Paid for by Jon Huntsman for President,” although the group has yet to file paperwork with the Federal Elections Commission. FEC guidelines allow a campaign organization 10 days after a formal declaration of candidacy or after receiving or spending more than $5,000 to officially file.

The fund-raising invite also includes what appears to be Huntsman’s new campaign logo, a white “H” in a red box surrounded by a black box and “Jon Huntsman – President 2012.” The H, as some of you may recall, is the same one initially used by the Horizon political action committee.

That PAC was referred to as Huntsman’s campaign in waiting but which formally could have no coordination with Huntsman’s presidential intentions.
