year’s Silver Valley Independence Day Celebration is in:
Sunday July 3
The circus will be in town, and tickets can be purchased through
the Chamber of Commerce in Kellogg. Show times are 2 and 7 p.m.,
but early risers can head to Silver Mountain to watch elephants put
up the “big top.”
In the Kellogg City Park at 1 p.m. there will be live music, a
Dutch oven cook-off, ice block races, a gold coin dig, and the
Corporate Pinewood Derby.
A spaghetti dinner will be held from 4-7 p.m. at the Veterans
Memorial Building.
Monday July 4
A 5K Fun Run will take off from Kellogg Middle School at 9 a.m.
Registration will take place at 7:30 a.m.
The Kellogg Elks will have a pancake breakfast from 8:30-11 a.m. at
the Kellogg Elks Lodge.
Line-up for the parade is at 11 a.m. at Division and Main in
Kellogg, and the parade will take to the streets at noon, with
awards presented at 1 p.m. on the Main Stage.
The main event kicks off in Kellogg City Park at 1 p.m., with live
entertainment, food, drinks, food and vendor booths. There will be
a host of children’s activities including water slides, a bounce
house, face painting, and a cupcake walk. For the grown-ups, there
will be a beer garden, raffles, and a basketball shoot-out.
Teams can register for the horseshoe tournament at 1 p.m., and the
event kicks off at 1:30 p.m.
Generation Gap will headline the Concert in the Park at 7
p.m.
The grand finale fireworks in Kellogg will begin at 9:45 p.m.
