The restoration of Northumberland House, a magnificent Grade II listed building by Trafalgar Square, is finally complete and the historic building, once home to the Ministry of Defence, now boasts two luxury hotels, two restaurants, a private business members club and a selection of grand event spaces.

Connections @ Trafalgar Square is an exclusive private members business club offering with its own club room and lounge where members can work independently, hold meetings and network with the like-minded – taking full advantage of high speed internet access, boardroom and video conferencing studio and expert on-site IT and AV technicians.

Elegantly furnished high-ceilinged rooms at The Grand – all boasting ergonomic workstations, complimentary Internet access, iPod docking stations and multimedia connectivity – retain the essence of the building’s history. However, if you’re after even more exclusivity, you can hole up at Club Quarters, a membership based, full service hotel with clubby atmosphere and serious security. Members can take advantage of complimentary WiFi, bottled water, coffee, tea and special weekend/holiday rates. There’s even a complimentary 24-hour in-house fitness suite or exercise equipment to be delivered directly to your room if you want to sweat in private.

Eat

Situated in the former Marble Hall, the opulent Boyd’s Restaurant and Bar is surrounded by towering marble walls and an adjacent area houses an impressive black granite bar adorned with antique ‘jewel-box’ style mirrors. Alternatively Japanese Watatsumi , headed by Nobu trained Executive Chef, Peter Makohus is ultra modern and minimalist.

8 Northumberland is one serious events and private hire venue – Madonna’s W.E. has just been filmed there and the space features a magnificent ballroom – complete with four bay-isles, an Italian Cinquecento-style carved apse and hand-painted stained-glass windows – four large banqueting spaces and over 20 small meeting rooms.
