» Memorial Day–Remembering The Civil War: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday at Heritage Hill State Park, 2640 S. Webster Ave., Allouez. Local veterans and the historic Fort Howard Soldiers conduct a service at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier of Camp Smith. Historical interpreters portray locals from the 1860s. Hear music and learn popular songs of the Civil War era (performed by Mary Eisenreich). Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address will be read. To salute those who gave their lives preserving the Union, muskets will be fired. Admission: $8 adults, $7 seniors (over 62), $6 ages 5-17, free for veterans and for age 4 and younger. Parade begins at 10:30 a.m., proceeds north on Third Street to Riverview Cemetery for a graveside ceremony to honor all veterans buried in that cemetery.
