MASON CITY — The Mason City High School Concert Band and
Symphonic Band will present their spring concert at 3 p.m. in the
auditorium on the NIACC campus with guest trombone soloist David
Kovarna and guest ensemble the Iowa Brass Quintet from the
University of Iowa. Admission is free.
MASON CITY — The Music Man Square, 308 S. Pennsylvania Ave., is
open 1-5 p.m. with a 1912 streetscape, Ice Cream Parlor, Mrs.
Paroo’s Gift Shop, 76 trombones and more. Tickets, $6 adults, $3
students through age 18, 6 and under free, available at Mrs.

ROCKFORD — Fossil and Prairie Center, 1227 215th St., is open
1-4 p.m. Free. Exhibits interpret the park’s natural and historic
features. The 400-acre park includes a fossil quarry, prairie,
beehive kilns, trails and picnic shelter.
