Treasure hunters will be scouring the streets of Wyckoff in search of a cache of goods during the Wyckoff PTO Economy Shop Townwide Garage Sale this Saturday from 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
This annual event and fundraiser will feature thirty-four homes. Participants paid $10 to have their address and brief description of items for sale listed on a map which is available at the Wyckoff PTO Economy Shop or can be downloaded from www.wyckoffps.org. Click on the Coordinating Council tab and then click on Economy Shop. Featured merchandise includes furniture, antiques, bikes, 8 piece drum set, jogging stroller, books, train set, clothing and household goods.
Located at the old train station on Main St, The Wyckoff PTO Economy Shop was established sixty-three years ago to support the Wyckoff public school system and Ramapo–Indian Hills High Schools. The shop is run and staffed by school and community volunteers.
“Third quarter checks were distributed totaling $33,500 for the current school year with an additional check scheduled for June,” said Andrea Collins, co-president of Economy Shop.
Beginning Tuesday, May 17th – May 20th all items in the shop will be half price. The popular Bag Week starts May 24 – 27 when customers can purchase a brown bag for $10 and fill it with merchandise.
Merchandise remaining will be donated to charitable organizations including Star of Hope, Lighthouse, Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge.
The Economy Shop was honored with a proclamation by the Township in 2008 on its 60th Anniversary for being one of the “town’s first recycling efforts.”
“We had another successful year and want to thank all of the volunteers, consignors and shoppers for all their contributions and continued support,” said Christina Gori, co-president of the shop.
The raindate for the garage sale is Sunday, May 15th.
The Economy Shop is open this Saturday from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Tuesday 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 – 9:00 p.m.
Wednesday 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Thursday 9:30 – 12:00 p.m. and 7:30 – 9:00 p.m.
Friday 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
