Barratt Sales, Prices Increase But UK Housing Market Subdued

LONDON (Dow Jones)–U.K. house builder Barratt Developments PLC (BDEV.LN) said Wednesday its sales rates had returned to normal levels and its average prices had increased, but added that the domestic housing market would remain constrained in the near-term.

The FTSE 250-listed company, the U.K.’s largest homebuilder by volume, said its sales rates since the turn of the year were significantly ahead of the first half, with 0.53 net private reservations per active site each week. This compared to 0.39 in …
