The Welsh Assembly election 2011 results are in and Labour says the party has won enough votes to govern in the Cardiff assembly.
Labour has taken 30 of the 60 seats – one short of the number it needed to take overall control of the assembly.
Labour enjoyed particularly good wins in Cardiff, taking one seat from the Liberal Democrats and one from the Tories. Across Wales, the Conservatives took 14 seats, Plaid Cymru 11 and the Liberal Democrats five.
The Welsh Assembly elections take place under an additional member system – 40 members are elected on first past the post for each constituency, and another four members are elected for each region (each of which covers a wider geographic area than the constituencies). The map below shows the latest results for each constituency (but does not include the additional members).
